Tourism In Thailand- Is It Good Or Bad For The Country?
Travelling is a hobby pursued by many in recent times, and has become widely popular in many countries. Every season, loads of people visit different places for adventure travel, cultural travel, multi-sports adventures, and environmental tourism. There are certain important aspects to consider when travelling to places rich with natural beauty. Environmental tourism has become rampant in places all over the world, and the irony is that people hardly know what "environmental tourism" means. This has become more of a business with plenty companies promoting tourism but not keeping in mind the first priority which is to save nature in these places.
Environmental tourism can be defined as responsible tourism to places without harming nature, and causing harm to locals in that area. Tourism in many countries plays a vital role in the economy of the nation, and this tends to be a reason why governments are more bothered about promoting places in their countries with serene beauty, and ignoring local citizens and how tourism affects them.
Main advantages of environmental tourism in Thailand are that it has helped this nation's economy grow providing source of income to people living in places where tourism is popular. Every year there are millions of tourists who visit Thailand to pursue different adventure sports, camping, water rafting, trekking, and bird watching. Thailand being filled with forests and mountains has become a hub for natural beauty. Many tourists over the years have loved to visit this country over, and over again to see amazing places here. Tourists flock to Thailand because of its low prices, friendly people, and beautiful places.

The immense growth in tourists has led to increase in pollution, and destruction of environment, and natural resources. Environmental tourism in Thailand is a term misused by many companies to attract more tourists, and these ways of luring people has led to increase in harm to nature in many places of Thailand.
This country once filled with beautiful, and inhabited lagoons, forests, and mountains is now used as places for trekking, bird watching, sporting activities, camping, etc. These activities have given Thailand's economy a good increase in income but have caused more harm to the local people, and nature. The orthodox rural people are exposed to urban companies and people from various countries. This leads to a lot of issues for locals as rates have shot up with more travelers visiting their places, and with local people not being able to cope with sudden change in environment and living conditions, which leads to corruption and unfair practices.
Environmental tourism in Thailand is just an excuse for starting lucrative business ventures by some. This is prevalent not only in a small county like Thailand but even in big countries. Individual governments need to come up with necessary action to save its country's serene beauty, and save local people from industrialization. Gifted with rich greenery, and water bodies, Thailand is a wonderful example of a place with wonderful natural sceneries. Such places need to be protected from exploitation, and it high time the government does the needful, rather than allow tour operators to exploit the vulnerability of such an area.
